Specific Injuries Experience
Simon has an extensive background working in community services and is very comfortable implementing interventions within the client’s home environment. This background has led him to have significant experience in managing complex physical disabilities.
Currently working as a Case Manager, Simon manages a diverse caseload of clients who have sustained multiple and significant orthopaedic injuries, including musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions and spinal fractures. He frequently works with individuals with brain injuries, including those with cognitive impairments resulting from traumatic brain injury or stroke. Simon is proficient in supporting clients experiencing challenges with memory, attention, and behaviour.
He also has experience working with individuals who have amputations and spinal cord injuries, often in combination with brain or orthopaedic injuries. Many of his clients have associated pain and mental health difficulties.
Simon is particularly skilled in the assessment and implementation of aids, equipment, and home adaptations. Through his private Occupational Therapy practice, he supports clients in regaining mobility and independence by recommending innovative equipment solutions and tailored housing modifications.

Simon is a highly experienced Occupational Therapist who qualified in Australia in 2002. Since then, he has gained extensive experience working with clients in a variety of health and social care settings in the UK and Australia. He has worked in private practice, rehabilitation centres, local authority settings, community rehabilitation teams and hospitals. He has experience working with clients in a wide range of clinical fields including neurology, acquired brain injury, amputations and orthopaedics.
Simon has worked for many years as a Case Manager. Through this work he has undertaken recruitment and ongoing supervision of care staff, management of complex care situations in the community, facilitating discharge from hospital, sourcing and adapting accommodation for his clients, arranging provisions of specialist equipment, and training carers and personal assistants
He has extensive experience in both the private and statutory sectors of providing home assessments and design of major and minor home adaptations. He has worked in specialist housing teams and is experienced in working alongside architects and surveyors. Simon also has expertise in recommending specialist equipment and assistive technology to enable his clients to remain active and independent within their homes and communities.
Simon is an Institute of Safety and Health (IOSH) qualified moving and handling trainer. He is experienced in completing moving and handling risk assessments, recommending moving and handling equipment, providing moving plans for use by carers and family members and providing on site education and training for clients’ needs. He is also able to provide individual or group moving and handling of people training.
Simon has worked in specialist rehabilitation centres and within community rehabilitation teams. He values the importance of setting client focussed goals and is skilled in the development and implementation of functional rehabilitation programmes.
He is committed to life-long learning and as such ensures he regularly maintains his skills by attending a range of training courses and conferences.
