Specific Injuries Experience
With an extensive and diverse background in occupational therapy, Rejoice brings comprehensive clinical expertise to her role as care expert. She is adept at delivering evidence-based assessments and recommendations regarding long-term care and equipment needs for individuals with a broad spectrum of life-altering injuries and conditions.
Alongside expert witness work, Rejoice maintains her clinical skills through working as a community occupational therapist. Rejoice supports clients with complex and catastrophic injuries such as lower limb amputation, cancer and terminal illnesses, adult cerebral palsy, and orthopaedic injuries (including fractures and joint replacements). Her clients often face additional challenges such as chronic pain, mental health issues, cognitive impairments, behavioural difficulties, and hearing or vision impairments.
Her core clinical responsibilities involve conducting thorough assessments, recommending and implementing tailored therapeutic interventions, prescribing standard and specialist equipment, advising and overseeing home adaptations, and formulating appropriate care and rehabilitation plans that promote long-term independence.
Additionally, Rejoice played a key role in a single-handed care initiative, reviewing and optimising care packages for clients with physical disabilities to improve both efficiency and client autonomy.
Employment Profile
Since 2022, Rejoice has been working as a community occupational therapist within adult social care. She began her career in a rehabilitation-focused service, conducting home assessments and delivering rehabilitation to individuals recently discharged from hospital or step-down wards.
In her current role, Rejoice collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, care agencies, Continuing Healthcare (CHC) teams, and specialist equipment providers. She conducts comprehensive assessments and reviews that address both immediate and long-term care and equipment needs.
Earlier in her career, Rejoice gained valuable experience across NHS mental health services and acute hospital settings, including stroke, respiratory, elderly care, and vascular surgery wards. Notably, within the vascular team, she played an integral role in supporting new amputees throughout their rehabilitation journey, both in hospital and the community.
Rejoice’s dedication to professional excellence is demonstrated through her commitment to continuous learning, ensuring her practice remains aligned with the latest best practices and advancements in occupational therapy.
