Specific Injuries Experience
Reece is a confident and motivated occupational therapist with extensive experience providing holistic assessments and therapeutic intervention for adults presenting with long-term physical disabilities. His clinical experience includes working with individuals following lower limb amputations, orthopaedic injuries (including joint replacements), chronic pain and a wide range of neurological conditions, such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, motor neurone disease and dementia.
He also regularly supports individuals with spinal injuries (fractures), cancer, terminal illness, palliative care needs and respiratory conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
In addition, Reece has experience supporting clients with secondary and co-existing challenges, including mental health conditions, mild brain injury, pressure sores, and visual or hearing impairments. This enables him to fully understand the cumulative impact of multiple conditions on an individual’s functional ability and care needs.
Reece brings extensive experience in assessing function, identifying rehabilitation potential, and making proportionate, evidence-based recommendations for care provision, equipment and housing adaptations. He has a strong understanding of how injury and illness affect daily living, employment, leisure activities and overall quality of life.
As a care expert, Reece applies his specialist occupational therapy knowledge to provide objective, balanced and well-reasoned reports across a diverse range of cases.
Employment Profile
Reece works as a community-based occupational therapist within a multidisciplinary adult social care team, completing comprehensive assessments to identify both immediate and long-term care, equipment and environmental needs for adults living with life-changing injury or illness. He is committed to empowering individuals to maximise independence and maintain meaningful engagement in daily life.
His role includes recommending, reviewing and justifying care packages, as well as undertaking joint visits with social workers to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to meeting clients’ changing needs over time.
In 2025, Reece completed a nine-month secondment as an Advanced Practitioner. During this period, he provided clinical supervision and professional guidance to occupational therapy colleagues and therapy assistants. He also played a key role in scrutinising and authorising non-standard equipment and adaptation requests as part of a formal panel process, further strengthening his clinical reasoning, proportionality and professional judgement.
Before qualifying as an occupational therapist, Reece worked as a healthcare assistant supporting adults with complex and lifelong needs, including learning disabilities, mental health conditions, progressive neurological conditions, and acquired brain and spinal injuries. This experience provided him with a strong foundation in hands-on care and an in-depth understanding of the lived experience of disability.
Reece actively maintains his continuing professional development through ongoing training, reflective practice and professional learning, ensuring his practice remains current and aligned with best practice standards.
