Specific Injuries Experience
Louise works as an independent Case Manager with adults who have brain injury and complex multi-pathology following injury or medical negligence.
Her clients commonly have a combination of cognitive, psychological and physical injuries which impact on all aspects of their daily lives.
As Louise works with adults, she is experienced in considering the wider impact of her client’s injuries on their responsibilities for work and family life, including childcare. She is responsible for engaging therapy and care services and reviewing the ongoing requirements for these services, adjusting recommendations and care plans in accordance with the client’s changing needs. Louise has experience of using both agency care and directly employing support workers to provide care.
She values each client’s individual lifestyle choices and strongly supports leisure and holiday goals to maximise quality of life.
Although she works in the private sector Louise works alongside statutory services and supports her clients with assessments for funding and benefits.
Many of Louise’s clients have significant injuries in addition to their brain injury, including visual impairment, amputation, and spinal cord injury.
Employment Profile
Louise has worked as an independent Expert Witness since 2006 and has completed numerous reports for use in litigation. She has extensive experience of attending case conferences and participating in expert meetings.
She has given evidence in Court on two occasions, including virtual Court in 2020.
Louise forms part of the quality assurance programme within Jacqueline Webb, providing support and mentorship to new experts joining the company.
Louise leads her own Case Management Company, providing case management services to adults with brain injury or multi-pathology complex cases. Her role is to co-ordinate the care, rehabilitation, vocational and housing needs of clients and provide support to their families. Many of the clients she works with have multi-pathology from being involved in road traffic accidents or accidents in the workplace and Louise engages privately employed and agency care packages, identifying the most appropriate solution.
Since qualifying as an Occupational Therapist in 1998, Louise has a wide range of experience in hospital, community and social services settings and has worked in many specialist areas including medicine and surgery – predominantly amputees, orthopaedics and neurosciences. Whilst she has particular expertise in brain injury, having worked in this area since 2001, Louise continues to work with amputees and orthopaedic injuries. The Case Management Company she was previously employed by worked with clients with brain injury only, however she has expanded the business to work with clients who have orthopaedic injuries and undergone amputations.
Louise is a member of the British Association of Brain Injury Case Managers (BABICM), Case Management Society UK (CMSUK), and United Kingdom Acquired Brain Injury Forum (UKABIF).
