Specific Injuries Experience
Louise works as an independent case manager with adults who have brain injury and complex multi-pathology following injury or medical negligence.
Her clients commonly have a combination of cognitive, psychological and physical injuries which impact on all aspects of their daily lives.
As Louise works with adults she is experienced in considering the wider impact of my client’s injuries on their responsibilities for work and family life, including childcare. She is responsible for engaging therapy and care services and reviewing the ongoing requirements for these services, adjusting recommendations and care plans in accordance with the client’s changing needs. Louise has experience of using both agency care and directly employing support workers to provide care.
She values each client’s individual lifestyle choices and strongly support leisure and holiday goals to maximise quality of life.
Although she works in the private sector Louise works alongside statutory services and support my clients with assessments for funding and benefits.
Employment Profile
Louise has worked as an independent expert witness since 2006 and has completed numerous reports for use in litigation. She has extensive experience of attending case conferences and experts’ meetings. Louise forms part of the quality assurance programme within Jacqueline Webb, assisting to train and mentor experts joining the company.
Louise has her own case management company, providing case management services to adults with brain injury or multi-pathology complex cases. Her role is to co-ordinate the care, rehabilitation, vocational and housing needs of clients and provide support to their families. Many of the clients Louise works with have multi-pathology from being involved in road traffic accidents or accidents in the workplace and she engages privately employed and agency care packages, identifying the most appropriate solution.
Since qualifying as an occupational therapist in 1998, Louise has gained a wide range of experience in hospital, community and social services settings and has worked in many specialist areas including medicine and surgery – predominantly amputees, orthopaedics and neurosciences. Whilst she has particular expertise in brain injury, having worked in this area since 2001, Louise continues to work with amputees and orthopaedic injuries. In fact, the case management company Louise was employed by previously worked with clients with brain injury only, however she has expanded the business to include clients who have undergone amputations.
