Specific Injuries Experience
Lee has been qualified as an Occupational Therapist since 2002 and has experience of working with clients of all ages and in a range of care settings. She has particularly extensive community care experience and works most regularly with adults who have long term and complex conditions.
Her expertise as an Occupational Therapist and Case Manager is in rehabilitation following complex physical and psychological trauma, working with clients who have brain injury, cerebral palsy, spinal injuries, polytrauma, complex orthopaedic injuries, amputations, psychological injuries/conditions, and associated sensory (visual or hearing) impairment.
Lee often works with clients who have cognitive impairments and/or mental health issues. She is currently undertaking a post-graduate diploma in cognitive behavioural therapy and on completion of this in 2021 she will be accredited as a psychotherapist with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies.
Lee currently works as a Case Manager and Occupational Therapist in private practice. She is skilled at assessing, planning and managing rehabilitation programmes and care packages for clients in the community with complex injuries and conditions. Lee identifies a client’s individual goals and work to support them to achieve these.
Lee has delivered directly employed care packages and has worked in conjunction with care agency managers.
She has experience of working with families and architects from the planning to building stage of adaptations to housing or new build properties including sensory rooms and hydrotherapy pools.
Lee worked for over 16 years in statutory services, most recently as a Community Occupational Therapist and Care Manager for adults with long term care and equipment needs.
As an Occupational Therapist within the Community Health and Care Partnership as part of a multi-disciplinary team, she completed specialist assessments to advise on aids and adaptations. Lee worked closely with physiotherapists, nurses and social workers to deliver a client-centered multi-disciplinary approach. As Care Manager she completed single and shared assessments, community care reviews, and implemented care packages including Self Directed Support.
Over the past 18 years Lee has become a skilled assessor, consolidating her knowledge of Occupational Therapy and enhancing my practice to become a competent report writer.
She is a passionate, enthusiastic and dynamic therapist always looking to challenge her practice and to continue to develop her skills.
