Specific Injuries Experience
Jennifer has extensive experience, through Case Management and Community Occupational Therapy, in supporting and managing the ongoing needs of those with orthopaedic, amputation, Brachial Plexus and trauma injuries. She is confident in the co-ordination of care and equipment needs for this injury group.
She is also confident in supporting those who suffer from chronic pain and/or mental health issues, with over 80% of the clients she works with suffering from these issues.
Jennifer has hands-on experience of working to support clients with mild brain injury, visual and hearing loss or impairment, and respiratory difficulties in conjunction with their other injuries.
Employment Profile
Jennifer has an extensive background in supporting individuals who have physical and psychological disability in community, independent and Case Management settings. In her early career Jennifer supported clients in the primary care, community and intermediate care roles, bridging the gap between NHS and social care. She completed community-based assessments and provided rehab focused support to reduce long term care needs and promote independence.
Having left the statutory services Jennifer began as a Rehab Case Manager working closely with individuals who have sustained significant orthopaedic and multi-trauma injuries, including amputation. Here she has developed a strong skillset in the co-ordination of rehab, care and support needs, aids and equipment and major housing adaptation to promote full independence. During this time, she also completed an MSc in Accessibility and Inclusive Design.
Jennifer also has an interest in assessment work away from Case Management with experience in driving and income protection assessments. For the last few years, Jennifer has been working as a hands-on Case Manager supporting a busy and complex caseload of clients. She has specific experience in co-ordinating care and equipment packages. Her wide-ranging skillset enables her to expertly assist injured individuals from both a clinical and vocational perspective.
