Specific Injuries Experience
Alongside her Expert Witness work, Christine spends a significant part of her week as a Case Manager and treating Occupational Therapist. She establishes, maintains and manages rehabilitation programmes for her varied caseload of clients. Most of Christine’s clients have legal claims in process which have not yet reached settlement and it is part of her role to work with them throughout the litigation process.
Christine works with clients who have sustained multi trauma injuries including hand, upper and lower limb trauma, amputations, spinal fractures, burns and skin injuries. Most of her clients have pain and psychological problems as a result of their injuries and Christine also supports clients with these and other associated complications such as bladder and bowel issues.
Christine manages and supervises small care packages of agency or directly employed care for her clients. She arranges and monitors psychological and physical rehabilitation, assists in the management, planning and implementation of housing adaptations, and assists clients in finding suitable alternate accommodation.
Christine works as an independent Occupational Therapist for private clients, providing and monitoring upper limb treatment programmes, housing and equipment assessments, and return to work programmes.
Employment Profile
Christine is an experienced Occupational Therapist, having qualified in 1998. She joined Jacqueline Webb & Co as an Expert Witness in 2014 and currently works as a specialist independent Occupational/Hand Therapist and Case Manager alongside this role.
As a clinician, Christine has worked in major trauma units providing acute occupational therapy and hand therapy care for patients with upper and lower limb injuries, multi trauma injuries and amputations. She continues to provide occupational therapy assessments and interventions as an independent occupational therapist within the private sector, predominantly in the client’s homes, to provide therapy programmes, equipment and adaptations to enable clients to reach their functional optimum.
As a Case Manager, Christine works with clients with upper and lower limb injuries, multi trauma and musculoskeletal injuries and amputations, managing and monitoring their rehabilitation needs from an acute stage through to case settlement and beyond.
Christine manages client rehabilitation funds, liaises with their solicitors and insurance companies providing clear and concise written communication for their legal claims. She can clearly and effectively communicate and is able to build rapport easily with clients, carers and health professionals. In her case management, Christine takes a person-centred approach and considers all the client’s needs – physical, psychological, social and environmental. She uses the best evidence-based information to enable individuals to live as independently as they choose.
Christine has developed clinical expertise in hand therapy treatments for a large range of patients, analysing activity to give expert opinion and recommendations for compensatory and rehabilitation solutions to problems. She is a member of BAHT (British Association of Hand Therapists).
